I know it feels hard to believe, but every part of you is lovable – even the bits that might feel impossible to love right now.

I invite you to come to counseling just as you are and fully embrace your healing journey, including where you are now.

If you’re looking for someone who does things a little differently – like you – you’re in the right place.

The therapeutic process is one of collaboration and trust — trust in yourself, in me, and in the process itself. To help build that trust, let me tell you a little more about what you can expect and my unique approach to therapy.

Therapeutic fit, or how well we “click,” is one of the strongest predictors of successful counseling.

I offer online individual therapy for women and LGBTQIA+ folks to help you discover your most authentic self and be able to live and love whole-heartedly.

In therapy you’ve got to feel able to take risks and be vulnerable. Three of the values that guide both my personal and professional life are authenticity, integrity, and adventure.

Most importantly, I emphasize self-determination to help you find positive and practical solutions to any number of life stressors and problematic situations. I’m here to create a therapeutic environment in which you can feel safe, seen, heard and respected.

I also offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for trauma, and our work together is guided by what you need, as you need it.

I take a direct approach with my clients, as I truly believe people can be empowered to change and heal. This clinical philosophy guided my decision to become certified in the work of Dr. Brené Brown, as a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator. When I first read Brene’s books, I felt called out on my bullshit, while simultaneously feeling seen and understood.

I primarily utilize Person-Centered and Strength-Based therapy, meaning that I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment that allows you to show up as your authentic self.

Does my approach resonate with you?

Lastly, we’ll decide on a regular appointment schedule that works for both of us, whether it’s weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Typically, we’ll schedule sessions more often, until we feel like it’s time to reduce the frequency of our sessions.

Next, we’ll communicate by email, text, or phone call (your preference!) to schedule your first session, called an intake appointment. During that first therapy session, we’ll go over some questions and your background to give us a solid foundation for the rest of our work together. Don’t worry – you won’t be the only one feeling awkward as we get to know each other. I promise that initial trepidation goes both ways, but we’ll work together.

Before we get started, I offer a free 15-minute consultation via phone or Zoom to make sure we have an authentic connection. I’ll give you that spiel about how we don’t like everyone, so it’s crazy that we expect to randomly select someone online and automatically like or click with them. So if we are not a good fit, no worries!

So what does this process look like?

I also offer a sliding scale rate, superbills, and private pay for out-of-network clients. Check out my FAQs page to learn more!
